Concha Vargas - Traje flamenca

This dress was worn by Concha Vargas when she danced before Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the beatification of Ceferino Giménez Malla, the first gypsy blessed of Christianity. The ceremony was held in St. Peter's Square in Rome on 4 May 1997, with the solemnity and recollection befitting this event. A great day, where the dance of Concha Vargas was engraved in the memory of those present.   

Ce costume est celui que Concha Vargas portait dans sa danse devant le Pape Jean Paul II à l’occasion de la béatification de Ceferino Giménez Malla, le premier saint gitan de la chrétienté. La cérémonie s’est tenue sur la place Saint-Pierre de Rome le 4 mai 1997, avec la solennité et le recueillement caractéristiques de cet événement. Un grand jour où la danse de Concha Vargas a brillé pour être mémorable.
