Professorship of Flamencology and Folkloric Studies awarded by the Ateneo de Jerez to Pedro Bacán for his guitar playing in 1980. This recognition, of extraordinary prestige, distinguished what the flamenco enthusiasts already knew: the musical knowledge, creativity, the way of understanding flamenco and the gypsy soul of a unique guitarist whose legacy remain unchanged to this day.
